Dr. McEwen completed his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, with a focus in Spanish, at the University of Kansas in 2007. He studied abroad in Seville, Spain. He then graduated from University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2013.

Dr. McEwen completed his general surgery training at the University of Arizona Surgical Residency program in 2018. He worked in private practice in Phoenix until moving back to Kansas in 2022.

Dr. McEwen grew up in Topeka, Kansas and was born in Emporia, Kansas. He enjoys riding his mountain bike, traveling, and spending time with family and his Yorkie.
